Humboldt Captures 9-Man Football Gold; Foam Lake Silver The 2008 Provincial Nine-Man Football Championship featured two teams which were quite familiar with one another.  The Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks and the Foam Lake Panthers played out of the same regular season league, and their paths crossed one final time in 2008 to determine the Provincial Champion. In the Provincial final, played Nov. 8 in Humboldt, the Mohawks got off to a strong start and an early lead.  They ended the first half up 28-7.  In the second half, Humboldt's defense was firing on all cylinders, limiting Foam Lake's strong passing game, and holding the Panthers off the second-half scoreboard.  The final score was 42-7 for Humboldt. Congratulations to both teams; we are very proud to have two Provincial medalists from our District!
